KATLA found its new home. Our new cropped cardigan already is the teams favorite piece for a cozy sunday. The organic cotton and SEACELL  ™ mix makes it light and soft at the same time.

The cardigan is made from a very nice organic cotton and SEACELL™  mix. A smartfiber that is extra moisture-regulating, has a smooth and comfortable touch, antibacterial properties and is therefore perfectly suitable for sensitive skin.

70% organic cotton // 23% seacell // 7% elastane

The origin of SEACELL™ fibers is algae from the Icelandic fjords. The renewable resource is produced in an energy-saving process and is completely biodegradable. When harvested, the algae is cut above the renewable region, allowing for re-sprouting. For processing, the algae leaves are dried, crushed and ground. They can then be integrated into cellulose fiber. The Lenzing company in Austria uses the environmentally friendly Lyocell process to produce SEACELL™. SEACELL™ gives textiles a silky feel and high wearing comfort.

KATLA is made of organic cotton, which is sustainable and easy to take care of:

  • gentle wash up to 30°C
  • use mild or color detergent
  • use a washing bag to protect the garment from zippers (and other mean things) being in the same washing machine
  • no softener
  • iron on low to medium temperature
  • dry and store lying

Cropped fit. Our model Ayele is 1,77m tall and wears size L.

Little reminder: Your size doesn't define you, dear.

Please note that the measurement refer to the piece itself and are not body measurements.
Wondering how to find the right size? Simply compare the measurements above to a similar piece of clothing you already own - you're welcome.

KATLA

1. design

Our founders Anna and Jula still do all of the design work themselves. They are mastering that challenge, despite living in two different countries. Luckily they're pros at long-distance teamwork.

So the design process is split between Hamburg and Dubai.

2. raw material

Since the average cotton production is a pretty dirty business, we only use organic and recycled cotton.
If you wanna know more about the ecological benefits, compared to regular cotton. The cotton is grown in India.

3. yarn production

No matter which fibers we are talking about, they have to be spun into a yarn for further production steps.

The yarn production takes place in Portugal.

4. fabric production

The next step of our Supply Chain is to knit the yarn into a fabric.
The fabric production is located in Guimaraes, Portugal.

5. manufacturing

That's where all the magic happens!
Our manufacturers receive the patterns, fabrics, and other components like buttons or zippers and make them into a garment.

This piece is made in Poland.

6. distribution

As some of you may remember, we used to do the shipping and warehouse management in our Headquarter in Hamburg by ourselves - yes, that was a lot of work!

Since 2020 we are working with our amazing logistics partner Livipur, which is located in Bad Homburg, Germany
