THE PERFECT MARLENE

Waist: high and fitted, legs: wide and long. Just like a MARLENE should be. To make it easier to put on the pants, MARLENE features a hidden zipper on the left side of the waist.

Partly made out of recycled ocean waste, this polyamide neoprene-like fabric is a sustainable AND stylish choice, of course. The feel of the material is comparable to that of a bikini, therefore the material is quite flowy and fluent.

If this is important to you, please note that the color is not a very deep black.

Really cool feature alert: You can very easily just cut these pants to your perfect length. Please make sure to secure the side seams, though.

 To complete MARLENE:
- Top CANCUN
- Top MERIDA

65% recycled polyamid, 35% elastane neoprene

MARLENE is made of recycled polyamide - a sustainable choice and easy to take care of:

  • Wash up to 30°C
  • no softener
  • no ironing (no wrinkles anyway, we promise!), but steam instead!

To avoid microplastics floating from your washing machine to the seas, please use a Guppyfriend washing bag. Plus: you can shorten the pants very easily due to the raw edges. Just cut straight with sharp fabric scissors and secure the seams. To be totally safe: ask your tailor of trust.

If you need some extra space at the waist, make sure to take one size bigger than usual.

Our Model Sofiya (first two pictures + video) is 1,75 m tall and wears size S. Our Model Borte is 1,76 m tall and wears size S.

MARLENE

1. design

Our founders Anna and Jula still do all of the design work themselves. They are mastering that challenge, despite living in two different countries. Luckily they're pros at long-distance teamwork.

So the design process is split between Hamburg and Dubai.

2. raw material

Virgin polyamide is based on oil and is not sustainable. Therefore, we stick to recycled polyamide. The company Econyl® uses garbage from the oceans and old fishing nets as a base for their material. The garbage is cleaned, cut, melted and made into new amazing yarn. How cool is that? To find out more -check out our material guide here. The recycling process and production of the polyamide takes place in Slovenia. The elastane is made in Nothern Ireland.

3. yarn production

No matter which fibers we are talking about, they have to be spun into a yarn for further production steps.

The yarn production takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

4. fabric production

The next step of our Supply Chain is to weave the yarn into a fabric.
The fabric production is located in Bergamo, Italy.

5. manufacturing

That's where all the magic happens!
Our manufacturers receive the patterns, fabrics, and other components like buttons or zippers and make them into a garment.

This piece is made by Manufacturer in Wroclaw, Poland.

6. distribution

As some of you may remember, we used to do the shipping and warehouse management in our Headquarter in Hamburg by ourselves - yes, that was a lot of work!

Since 2020 we are working with our amazing logistics partner Livipur, which is located in Bad Homburg, Germany
